The first wife of Michael Jackson was Lisa Marie Presley, who is the daughter of the legendary singer Elvis Presley. What an amazing pair, isn’t it? The couple bonded together by getting married on May 26, 1994, but sadly the marriage ended in less than 2 years on January 18, 1996. Before we start talking about their first meeting, we’d like to tell you that before marrying Jackson, Presley married Danny Keough in 1988 and obtained a divorce in 1994.
How Did Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley Meet?
Jackson met Presley in 1975 when she came to attend his concerts that he performed in Las Vegas. At that time Lisa was 7 and Michael was 17, having a 10 years gap between the two. But that meeting didn’t have any massive impact on their lives as they both moved on with other relationships.
Lisa Marie Presley was supportive to Michael Jackson
In 1992, Jackson started his adult friendship with Presley and started getting dependent on her, emotionally because, at that time, he was getting molestation accusations and was getting immensely addicted to drugs. She was a strong believer that Michael hasn’t done anything wrong to anyone and publicly spoke about it.
Being said that the couple wanted to be friends for the rest of their lives and wanted to part their ways, the marriage came to an end and both proceeded with their own lives. Later she felt bad when she came to know that Jackson was hospitalized in Los Angeles and she realized that it’d be great if she could have done more for him when they were together.
In 2010, Presley was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey and told that the news of Jackson’s death shocked her to the core and she couldn’t stop crying that day while doing all the household chores. 2022 was a year of grief to Presley as her 27-year-old son Benjamin Keough died as a result of suicide.
Presley was also seen with Michael Jackson in his music video “You Are Not Alone” in August 1995.
